What is pairing and why is it needed
In order for the remote/base statio to talk to the shutoff module they need to agree on a few key parameters such as radio channel, encryption keys and more. During the pairing sequense they exchange this information and store it for future use. It is important to note that each shutoff module can only communicate with one remote at any given moment.
Step 1
Remote: Start with the remote in “off” state. Hold the power button while powering on, the LED will flash rapidly, press the button 4 times within 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED blink rate will slow down to about 3 times per sec.
Step 2
Shutoff: Switch on the shutoff without pressing the button, if this is the first time, the shutoff should enter pairing mode automatically.
If not, press and hold the button “B” for 5 seconds until the LED blink pattern changes.
Release the button when you see the blink pattern change to about 3 times per sec.
Button location of the shutoff.
Step 3
When pairing is successful the LED on the remote and shutoff will blink in sync at a rate of 1 blink per sec. To return to normal operation both devices must be power cycled (Turned off and on again).
Troubleshooting:
If the LEDs do not blink in sync, repeat steps 1 through 3. It is important that the remote is put into pairing before the shutoff.
Do a factory reset on the shutoff module, connect the USB-C to a PC and open a serial monitor with baud: 115200.
Type “factory_reset” and follow the prompts in the monitor. After successfully factory resetting the shutoff. Retry step 1 through 3.
